Perth and Surrounds

Perth is accessible by road, rail or air  
 
Day 1
Indian Pacific, a unique world renowned premier rail experience joining the Pacific and Indian Oceans, connecting Sydney and Perth.

Day 2
Visit the Perth Mint to view a gold pour or the Cultural Centre to see Aboriginal Art and other exhibitions. Kings Park for a vantage point of the city, for where you can hire equipment and cycle or rollerblade through the park.

Day 3
See the Black Swans, the state's fauna emblem, on the Swan River. Shop for Australian Argyle diamonds (the world's largest supplier of coloured diamonds) and Broome peals in the Perth suburb of Subiaco. Dine in Northbridge, the premier restaurant and nightclub area located in the inner city suburb of Perth, minutes walk from the city.  
 
Day 4
Take a cruise along the Swan River to historic Fremantle, site of the America's cup challenge. Take a guided tour of the Fremantle Prison, browse through the Fremantle Markets and relax with a cappuccino on the well known cappuccino strip, a street lined with cafes.

Day 5
Head just north of Perth to Scarborough Beach, and spend the day at the beach or go to watch the sunset over the water.

A host of other options exist outside Perth and shouldn't be forgotten on your travels
The south west is accessible by road. 
 
Heading south of Perth stop at Bunbury to see dolphins in the harbour inlet, if you are lucky enough to see the dolphins you might like to swim and interact with them.

Watch the surfers at Margaret River beach. Or sample the wares of the local wineries.

In Augusta choose from several natural underground caves to view, take a guided tour of these natural phenomena's.

Pemberton is known for its towering Karri trees, some over 60 metres high, enjoy many craft shops and wood galleries throughout the area. Or perhaps you would like to climb the Gloucester Tree, a 62 metre high tree that is still used as a fire spotting lookout by the rangers, a great place to lookout over the canopy.

Stay in any one of the unique accommodation options available, choose from guesthouses, a bed and breakfast or country hotels.

Perhaps stay overnight at a resort where you can dangle a fishing line off your balcony to a trout filled dam.
