Darwin
Darwin is accessible by rail, road and air
Day 1
Orientate yourself with this northern capital of Australia on a city sights tour.
Must see sights & attractions:
- Check out Fannie Bay Gaol and the Military Museum
- View the ornate Chinese Temple
- Hand feed fish in the harbour
- Visit the Museum & Art Gallery of the Northern Territory for an Aboriginal art exhibition
Day 2
Offshore you can visit the Tiwi Islands, made up of Bathurst and Melville Island.
Must see sights & attractions:
- Take a tour that enables visitors to interact with the local Aboriginal tribe
- Check out Tiwi Island culture through the art centres
Day 3
Discover the city and outskirts which Darwin has to offer.
Must see sights & attractions:
- Visit the Wharf Precinct for a fresh seafood meal
- Try your luck gambling at the casino in Darwin
- Explore Kakadu National Park known for its wildlife including birds
- Visit the Aboriginal Cultural Centre, Park Headquarters and Visitors Centre in Cooinda
Alice Springs
Darwin is accessible by rail, road and air
If possible travel on "The Ghan", a unique world renowned premier rail experience from Adelaide to Alice Springs.
Day 1
Allow a whole day to spend in Alice Springs.
Must see sights & attractions:
- Check out the Telegraph Station
- Visit the first Central Australian settlement, Panorama Guth
- Go see the Royal Flying Doctor Service or visit the famous outback radio "School of the Air".
- Ride a camel along a dry river bed and then enjoy an Aussie BBQ
Day 2
Join one of the day tours that highlight Aboriginal culture and bush tucker food surrounding Alice Springs.
Day 3
Leaving Alice Springs head south to Uluru/Ayers Rock, accessible by road or air. Uluru/Ayers Rock is the world's largest monolith.
Must see sights & attractions:
- Explore Uluru/Ayers Rock and take a guided base walk
- Hop on a Harley for a guided motorcycle ride around Uluru/Ayers Rock
- Continue onto Kata Tjuta/Olgas
Day 4
Visit the Uluru Kata Tjuta Cultural Centre location within the National Park
Must see sights & attractions:
- Hike through the valley of the Winds in the Kata Tjutas/Olgas
- View the rock at sunset for a dramatic effect
- Dine under the stars eating gourmet bush tucker
